What does DMA firmware mean?
The term is used for different products and setups. Start by identifying where the firmware runs, what equipment it needs, and which software is supplied separately.
A term is not a complete specification
DMA stands for direct memory access. Firmware is software associated with the operation of hardware. Those terms alone do not tell you which equipment a particular product requires or how a complete setup is assembled. The DMA firmware glossary explains the hardware and networking terms used in these guides.
A product described as DMA firmware might be associated with a separate card, while rDMA+ uses custom BIOS firmware prepared for a compatible motherboard. Treat those as different approaches with their own requirements, rather than assuming that their firmware files, setup instructions, or supporting software are interchangeable.
Does DMA firmware include cheats?
The rDMA+ order does not include separate game-software licences. Firmware and companion connection tools are different from game software. Confirm the requirements and licensing of the software you intend to use before buying.
How is rDMA+ different from card firmware?
rDMA+ is SwiftDMA’s product name. Its requirements are the ones described here; the name alone does not establish compatibility with enterprise RDMA products.
rDMA+ enables memory access over LAN using custom BIOS firmware. It is prepared for the motherboard and BIOS file supplied by the customer. A gaming PC connects to a second PC over the same network or directly by Ethernet.
This approach does not require a separate DMA card. It still requires two compatible PCs, the prepared firmware, the companion software, and a suitable connection between the computers.
The package includes an installer and uninstaller for the gaming PC, a launcher for the second PC, LeechCore compatibility, and setup assistance. It also includes a three-month firmware repair-or-replacement warranty starting when the firmware is received.
Questions worth answering before purchase
- Is the exact motherboard and installed BIOS version compatible?
- What must run on each of the two computers?
- Can the proposed network or Ethernet connection be used?
- Is the intended game and separate software supported with that configuration?
- What is included in the price, and what needs to be obtained separately?
- When does support coverage begin, and how is a problem reported?
For rDMA+, Secure Boot and IOMMU can remain enabled on supported configurations. Confirm this for your own equipment instead of copying settings from an unrelated setup.
Use the instructions for your configuration
Send the hardware and software details through a private Discord ticket. Staff confirm compatibility, order contents, and the preparation estimate, then request the original BIOS file needed for preparation.
Keep a backup of your original BIOS and follow the instructions provided for your motherboard. A general explanation of DMA firmware is not a substitute for configuration-specific installation guidance.
