Setup planning
Planning a BIOS or motherboard change?
rDMA+ is prepared for a specific motherboard and supplied BIOS file. Before changing that configuration, ask SwiftDMA to check the proposed change and explain what it means for your firmware.

Why does the exact BIOS version matter?
A motherboard model identifies the hardware; the installed BIOS version identifies another part of the configuration. Providing only the manufacturer or motherboard family leaves the compatibility check incomplete.
Give staff the exact motherboard model and current BIOS version. If you are considering an update, include the intended version as well. A check of your current setup should not be treated as confirmation of a different BIOS version or replacement motherboard.
Which changes should I discuss before proceeding?
- A BIOS update or a return to an earlier version: identify both the installed and intended versions.
- A motherboard replacement: provide the replacement's exact model, rather than assuming a similar name has the same requirements.
- A change to the intended software or game: describe it separately from the hardware change.
- A different second PC or connection: explain what will change in the complete two-PC setup.
These details let staff assess the proposed configuration. This page does not establish that an existing firmware file can be reused or promise that a different configuration will be supported.
What should I keep from my original setup?
Keep a backup of your original BIOS and retain the original file supplied for preparation. Also keep a record of the motherboard model, BIOS version, order information, and setup instructions provided for that configuration.
A record of what was supplied makes it easier to distinguish the original configuration from a later change. It does not mean an old file is suitable for different hardware. Ask staff which file they require instead of selecting a file solely because its name looks similar.
What should I send when planning an update?
Use your private Discord ticket to share the current and proposed configuration, why you are making the change, and the manufacturer's release information if available. Ask staff to confirm the next steps for the proposed BIOS version before relying on the existing firmware.
The public guide explains what to prepare. Installation and update instructions must come from the guidance for your particular motherboard and firmware; there is no universal procedure provided here.
What if something stops working after a change?
Report the observed issue and describe what changed, including the relevant versions and whether the setup worked beforehand. Include your order information privately. Read the three-month warranty for the coverage period and reporting process; this guide does not add a separate update or replacement policy.
